The Numbers Behind Houston’s Top Ranking
Houston ranks first because it performs consistently well across every category. Accommodation averages $96 per hour. Drinks, meals, and a 30-minute Uber cost about $88 combined. There is no single category where Houston is dramatically expensive, which is what pushes it to the top of a composite index.
Compare that to Miami, where accommodation alone averages $301 per hour, and the gap becomes obvious before a single drink is ordered.
Riverside Wins on Accommodation
If accommodation is the biggest line item in the group budget, Riverside ranks first at $50 per hour. That is significantly lower than any other city in the top ten and less than a fifth of what groups pay in Miami.
The American Hotel and Lodging Association reports that group travel accommodation costs have risen significantly over the past three years, making per-night costs an increasingly important factor in destination selection. The Giggster data reflects that shift, with accommodation being one of the widest-ranging variables across all 30 cities.

Pittsburgh ranks first for nightlife value with venue prices of $188 per hour and 26 nightlife venues per 100,000 residents. That combination of low cost and strong supply makes it one of the better underrated options for groups that want a real night out without paying Orlando prices, which average around $1,700 per hour for nightlife venues.
