Millions of Muslims around the world visit the city of Makah to complete their pilgrimage as Hajj or Umrah. After finishing up on their pilgrimage they spend time in the city of Makah. Most of them make their way to the second holiest city Medina. It is the Second holy City as our Prophet PBUH immigrated to spend the last 10 years of his life. There are many historic sites and graves of the companions as well as our prophet PBUH there.

Prophet’s Museum

The prophets Museum exhibition is right by the mosque. After getting the tickets you can inside the museum, which is the main Museum just outside the prophet’s mosque. This Museum is about the biography of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, right from when he was a child to his death. It is definitely recommendable to go and check it out but you can’t record inside. British Muslim can visit this museum by getting Umrah package from Islamic Travel because they are offering visit this museum in your package.

A lot of the rules are over here but definitely worth the visit. And I think it’s pretty decent for the money you pay. Yeah a lot of history and facts, you will get very nice information. Even if you’re a non-Muslim you should go and just learn about the history of Islam. There are specific time slots for specific languages in the museum. So don’t worry if you are not familiar with Arabic.

The prophet’s Mosque

Prophet Muhammad PBUH built this beautiful grand mosque in his era with help of his companions. You will find this mosque as the largest mosque in terms of area in the world. The mosque has separate praying areas for both men and women with separate and combined halls. The tomb of the prophets lies inside the mosque in high security. You can watch the grave of prophet PBUH from the distance as security doesn’t allow entering inside for security reasons. Ramadan is the best time to visit this place. Ramadan is expected to fall in April British Muslim can get April Umrah packages by Islamic Travel to pray here.

The mosque architecture is so amazing. Saudi govt. keep updating this mosque and maintaining its interior. Muslims believe that praying in the masjid e Nabwi make you feel closer to Allah and his Prophet PBUH. There is a special peace in this place which you can never have anywhere.

The Cemetery

This is the main Cemetery where all the Sahaba buried. Quran says that on the Day of Judgment Prophet Muhammad PBUH will be the first person to enter to the heavens. After then the 70,000 people are going to Resurrect from this cemetery. And they will stand right by Prophet Muhammad PBUH and without Reckoning they’re going to enter in Jannat. And that’s why it’s a really important Cemetery in Islam.

Cemetery opens after fajar till 8 am in the morning. And after then it opens for about couple of hours in the afternoon for the visitors. There is only one way system in this cemetery to enter.

Muslims who book Umrah packages visits this place compulsorily because of its sacredness. It makes them close to the Allah SWT and they remember the fact that every soul will return to Allah.

 Mount Uhad

Mount Uhad is a very significant place here in the Medina area. This is where the second war happened between the Muslims and non-believers. During the time of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, a lot of Sahaba died here. And there’s a very interesting story behind this place. Here you can hike on this mountain. There are a lot of pigeons and pigeon food’s sellers.

The top of the mountain is a strategic point where you can have an overlook of the whole city. Here at the top of the mountain prophet PBUH gathered all Sahaba years back. And he ordered them not to leave the top. Many Sahaba thought the war is over and they headed back. But it was a trap from opposition and they killed many Muslims and uncle of prophet PBUH. So that battle was a sad war for the prophet as he lost his uncle and companions.

Wadi jinn

This area is basically the area where the Prophet Muhammad PBUH converted a lot of jinn’s to become Muslim. There is no really religious importance. It is known to have this Magnetic Hill type of properties around here. Apparently cars that come here they can basically drive themselves or move themselves. They pull towards the Medina Direction. So it is one long straight road that goes to the end of the mountain. And then back so any car that goes here has to make it way back to Medina anyway. The road is going downhill.

The drivers told that when you come to this area you can get a bit of sickness. The sickness like headache and kind of like that travel sickness. You get it because the whole area is magnetic. Your ears can pop as well which is going to go to the end of the road. Then there is a U-turn to go back. And apparently then the car just literally flies and you will be stretching your legs.

Masjid al Qiblatain

It is the mosque of two Qiblas where Prophet Muhammad PBUH received the order to change the direction of prayer. And afterwards the mosque is masjid al Qiblatain. You pray at a mosque like this where there’s like a significant history behind it. The prayer has a special feeling in this place. Savad bin ganam built this mosque during the second year of Hijr.

This is place where Prophet Muhammad PBUH received the command to change the Qibla direction from Jerusalem to Makah. This occurred on the 15th of shaban when prophet Muhammad PBUH led his companions during zuhar Salah. Afternoon prayers then commanded by a Quranic revelation to face toward the Kaba during his time in Makah. The prophet Muhammad PBUH used to pray towards bait ul muqaddas, masjid al aqsa with the Kaba in front. You can buy Ramadan Umrah packages and pray in this beautiful mosque in the month of Ramadan.
