Goodbye old friend…selling my iMac to travel

iMac v MacBook Air Goodbye old friend - the day I let my iMac go

We were so close and now you’re gone. We’ve been through so much together, spent so much time together, just the two of us. I’ve lost count of the amount of hours we’ve spent watching movies together, tweeting together, working and researching together.

You were there for my wedding, you were there when my son was born, you were there when we bought and sold properties. Many of the big moments in my life you were there.

But now you’re gone.

It was inevitable this day would come, but that doesn’t make it any easier. Goodbye my iMac 27” Desktop, I won’t forget you…selling my iMac to travel was inevitable.

Truth be told I’m not really that upset. I did love that machine, no doubt about that, but I’ve already moved on. It’s not like I could strap the thing to my backpack and cart it around the world with me. The thought of all those adventures we’ll be going on is far more exciting than the pain of not having my trusty iMac at my beck and call in my home office. So I sold it on eBay (to a good home) and used the cash to buy a brand spanking new MacBook Air.

And I love this thing!

It’s light, powerful, looks awesome and does everything I will ever need and more. I’ve literally traded it in for a younger, slimmer model. Admittedly it’s not quite as clever, but does everything I need it to do, so can’t complain at all.

So that’s another step on our journey to prepare for our adventure of a lifetime. Every step taken is a step closer to our departure date, and it gets a little more exciting each time…
